Fireproof DVD

No, this isn’t to inform you of some kind of innovative BluRay indestructible disc, or anything like that.  It is just to make sure you know “Fireproof” DVDs go on sale this Tuesday.  I would urge you to buy a copy, if you did not see it at the theater.  It will touch you deeply, and challenge the way you approach marriage and life in general.  And buy a copy if you did catch it at the theater.  Let’s do all we can to support what could be the beginning of a new movement of theater-production films based on explicitly Christian themes and high moral values.

Thank you for stopping by at Truth On Cinema.

@Fireproof, my wife and I saw this movie together and although most of these “Christian” films are altogether cheesy and campy and mediocre at best, I thought this had one of the more realistic portrayals of marriage in film.

If only we as Christians could be truly authentic in our story telling and production so that movies that are particularly “Christian” wouldn’t be recognized as anything else other than a good quality film. We should be the most creative people in the world.

Well said, Dan. As a marriage therapist, I thought they really did do a good job of portraying the kinds of real-life issues that couples face when they are not doing well. And I further agree that it’s time more “Christian” production companies stepped up at least as well as Sherwood Pictures did on this last offering. Of course, the amount of money they have to invest in a project has to make a world of difference. Given that, Sherwood ought to really nail their next offering!
